ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ is moving ahead with a number of renovation and new construction projects that target improvements to the physical campus.

On Nov. 1, ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ held the inaugural Commons Cup Trivia Championship in the Edge Cafe, bringing together students from all four Residential Commons for a lively evening of intellectual rivalry and friendly competition.

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ will mark the beginning phases of the Lower Campus Initiative under the Third-Century Plan this summer with construction and restoration projects at 66 and 70 Broad Street.

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Residential Commons will welcome new co-directors at the beginning of the 2024–25 academic year.

Abigail L. Palko, PhD, director of the Maxine Platzer Lynn Women’s Center at the University of Virginia, has been named the inaugural director of the Residential Commons program at ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½.

Two of ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½â€™s Residential Commons will welcome new co-directors, beginning in the 2022–23 academic year.

The Live Music Collective is devoted to bringing a diversity of live music performances to campus and the Hamilton area.

Trustee emeritus Robert Fox ’59, GP’23,’25 has given $10 million to build Fox Hall at ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½, the first residence hall of the University’s fifth Residential Commons. The gift was acknowledged by the Board of Trustees during its fall meeting, Sept. 30–Oct. 1.

Joseph Hernon, a military veteran, and firefighter with 10 years of emergency management experience will lead ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½â€™s emergency management operations after a nationwide search to fill the vacant role of associate vice president for campus safety, emergency management, and environmental health and safety. 

The Max A. Shacknai Center for Outreach, Volunteerism, and Education (COVE) celebrated National Volunteer Week this year with a series of awards for its most dedicated and successful student volunteers.
